Welcome to Erk FM: Australia episode 412. On this episode, Erk celebrates 5 years of producing Erk FM. So where should be be when this episode is released to you? VEGAS, BABY!
On this episode, Erk looks back & features 4 Australian legends of music that he never thought he would be able to play but he can, courtesy of his music suppliers SGC Media & AirPlay Direct. An important part of the future to Erk is looking back at the past & in most cases, the people featured in this episode are still producing music.
The episode opens with guitar wizard Tommy Emmanuel. Following Tommy is Paul Kelly who has had a long career both as a member of a band or solo, winning 8 ARIA awards along the way. Next is Dragon who despite actually being from New Zealand, moved to Australia early in their career. They have had a long history punctuated by several breaks & lineup changes. Finally, Erk finishes the episode with his most famous interviewee, Dave Evans. The original singer of AC/DC, Dave was in several bands & is still rocking hard around the world.
Of course, this is a very short summary of their various careers and a tribute to all of those Aussie musicians past, present & future who have entertained us over the years both within Australia & beyond.
Finally, Erk would like to thank all the bands, promoters, venues, fellow podcasters & listeners for all of the support over the last 5 years. Who knew that Erk would be still music podcasting well over 500 episodes later (if episodes of Erk FM: Metal Monday are included in this total).
