Runde Is that real? How can we find out? These are some of the
questions to be raised in the workshop. It is planned as a mix of
short presentations, discussions and (inter)active audience
participation, in which attendees are invited to perform
verification tasks on their laptops. We start by outlining
different reasons and underlying motivations for spreading
mis-/disinformation. This will be followed by selected examples of
different types of thereof. Then we move to the core part of the
session: active, hands-on verification. So make sure you have your

given a number of verification challenges which they will be asked

them.  We will round up the session with a short portrayal of
media literacy activities from outside Europe that showcase
counter-measures in the fight against misinformation. Space for
comments and questions will also be provided.
