Elton John: Balladenkönig und Boogie-Man (1/2)

Elton John hat der Welt über 50 Jahre lang seine Melodien
geschenkt. Geboren wurde der schrille Superstar mit Brille als
Reginald Kenneth Dwight, ein schüchternes Einzelkind. Schon früh
wurde sein musikalisches Talent und sein präzises Gehör entdeckt.
Nach Lehrjahren traf er schließlich auf den Texter Bernie Taupin –
eine entscheidende Wende in seinem Leben. Das zweite Album brachte
den Durchbruch, der Star Elton John war geboren. In wenigen Jahren
folgten Alben, große Tourneen und zahlreiche Hits. Die Kostüme und
Bühnenauftritte wurden immer spektakulärer, verdeckten aber auch
Einsamkeit und Drogenprobleme. Peter Urban erinnert sich an erste
Auftritte. Im Gespräch mit Ocke Bandixen zeichnet er den Werdegang
des Sängers und Pianisten nach und erklärt die Quellen für dessen
