O'Shaughnessy, Ode BIO: Having grown up in Melbourne, Australia in
the 90’s DJ BEAN was just lucky enough to be there at the very
beginning… the secret warehouse parties, the phat pants, the talcum
powdered dance floors, the fruit platters, the amazing strangers
who’d ask if you needed water because you’d bean dancing for 6hrs
straight, the DJs lugging in 100kg crates of vinyl and actually
mixing…. Eventually, around ’97 she started collecting records but
didn’t really want anyone to know so it wasn’t until the turn of
the millennium that saw DJ BEAN come out of her shell & start
to DJ in public. Since then she has bean lucky enough to play at
some of Melbourne’s best night clubs & festivals (including
Qbar, Candy Bar, Brown Alley, Earthcore, Earthdance & the
infamous Rainbow Serpent Festival numerous times) supporting a
plethora of International DJ greats: DNox, Infected Mushroom,
Tiefschwarz, Peace Division, Fatali, Subandrio, Captain Hook &
Simon Dunmore to name a few. DJ BEAN has also hosted her own radio
show on Melbourne’s most progressive underground dance music radio
station, KISS FM. By 2004, she decided she needed a sea change
& moved to Ibiza, Spain where she held down numerous weekly
residences as well as monthly residencies in both London &
Rome.
