Roche Young Commissions | 4th Part – Rita Castro Blanco

Let's sharpen our ears for the music of the 21st century!
The "Roche Young Commissions" were created in 2013 as part of the
partnership of Roche with Lucerne Festival and the Lucerne
Festival Academy: Every two years this program gives out
commissions for new works to two emerging composers. This summer,
the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra (LFCO) will yet again
premiere two exciting new scores. Get to know them in our podcast
"Deep Listening: New Music".

Portuguese conductor Rita Castro Blanco will conduct the world
premiere of Hovik Sardaryan's new work Ikone. Talking to
dramaturge Mark Sattler, Rita explores how she approached this
new composition.

Ikone will have its world premiere on 26 August, with Rita Castro
Blanco conducting the Lucerne Festival Contempoary Orchestra
