It has only been 2 weeks since our last "Off the record"-show, but
you may remember we had some technical issues and were cut off
before we got to the more constructive part. And that is what we
are focusing on today! Also the show is now split into two parts:
first we talk about ideas for alternative business models or the
relationship between artists and galleries in difficult market
conditions as we are experiencing them in recent years. We are
touching on a really delicate issue here …. Then we move on to a
more lighter topic and start telling anecdotes from our long time
in the business. We speak about our early Miami-experiences and
good times with FriendsWithYou and David Choe, we tell stories
about artists we worked or still work with such as Doze Green and
Boris Hoppek, or our Brazilian connections such as Speto and Zezão
and more. We are both looking forward to expanding the
storytelling, it also helps you get a more positive picture of us
maybe, in case you get tired listening to our struggles and the
frustration with the shitty art business today - which we may have
placed too much emphasis on lately, but we still haven’t found
satisfying answers yet, so please bear with us. However - if you
are still interested in our professional and definitely educated
opinion on this please listen to the first roundabout 30 minutes of
todays heliumtalk and see if you’d like to engage with us more, for
example by sending an email to hello@heliumtalk.com or a message on
my instagram @heliumcowboy to include your thoughts in our
discussion. PS: A new photo of Jonathan - by photographer Elisaveta
