Deep Dive – Tigran Amiryan on Russian Cultural Actors in the Southern Caucasus

In the wake of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, a multi-layered
migration pattern has emerged. Armenia and Georgia, nestled in
the heart of the South Caucasus, have become havens for Russian
and Ukrainian migrants. The influx of these new players in the
cultural scene has set off a seismic ripple across the region.


Who are these cultural actors? What stories do they bring with
them? How have their artistic foot-prints transformed the local
cultural canvas? Tigran Amiryan, founder and president of the
Cultural and Social Narratives Laboratory, joins us today. As a
semiologist and contemporary culture researcher, he unravels the
threads of transformational processes in Armenia and Georgia.
