Why does supporting Palestine and being left go hand in hand?
Another task for Hannes and Jannes, our two liberal
wannabe-experts visiting the “Marx is’ Muss” (“Marx is a must”)
Congress. One more time, they went on to discover leftist,
socialist and Marxist perspectives on Palestine:
Mohammed Khatib gives an insight to the Palestinian perspective
and explains what international solidarity and class struggle
really mean.
Ilan Pappé, Israeli historian, activist and author, draws
attention to the fact that Israel is a settler colonial
state.
Phil Butland works out how German-Palestinian protest movements
have developed in recent years.
And Yousef calls for a fundamental rethink within “die Linke”
(the left party) towards Palestine. He is optimistic but at the
same time highly critical.
