Elton John ist in den 70er Jahren der erfolgreichste Solokünstler
der Popmusik. Alle Alben verkaufen sich millionenfach, seine
Konzerte in Stadien sind ausverkauft. Und doch erschöpft sich seine
Arbeitsweise, persönliche Probleme mit Drogen und Beziehungen
belasten ihn, die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Texter Bernie Taupin wird
unterbrochen, Ausflüge in Discomusik Ende der 70er Jahre gefallen
vielen seiner Fans nicht. Mit dem Album „Too low for zero” kommt
die Anerkennung vieler Kritiker und der Fans zurück. Elton John
braucht noch bis 1990, um seine Suchtprobleme in den Griff zu
