A personal digital twin (PDT) refers to a replicate of a person
in digital form including biometrics, facial characteristics,
personal preferences, health records, daily activities, favorite
locations, travel records, and online shopping records, etc. In
this podcast Jun. Prof. Fang-Jing Wu (TU Dortmund) explains to us
what a PDT is and how PDTs are created. We discuss also the
potential social impacts and positive benefits expected from this
new technology. PDT is yet another new technology contributing to
the production of our digital identity. Their development and use
in several contexts of society, from our personal lives to
international research projects, make it relevant for everyone to
understand how they work in order to develop a critical view on
their use.
