Who or what is IPCC? [English]

Have you already heard about the IPCC report? And been wondering
what's actually behind? The IPCC stands for Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change. And this panel is coordinating and
publishing a report every 5-7 years about the current scientific,
technical and socio-economic knowledge on climate change. Just a
few weeks ago the last part of the newest report was published
and our guest in this episode is one of the scientists who
contributed to it. Katja and Vicky are talking with Jarmo
Kikstra, researcher at  IIASA (International Institute of
Applied Systems Analysis, Laxenburg, Austria) about the
development process of an IPCC report and what drives his work.


Hast du schon mal was vom IPCC Bericht gehört im Zusammenhang mit
dem Klimawandel? Der IPCC ist der Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change also sozusagen der Weltklimarat, der alle 5-7
Jahre den aktuellen Stand der Klimaforschung zusammenfasst. Der
neuste Bericht  kam in diesem Jahr heraus und in dieser
Folge sprechen Katja und Vicky mit einem der Wissenschaftler, der
daran mitgewirkt hat: Jarmo Kikstra. Er arbeitet am IIASA
(International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis) und wir
sprechen mit ihm vor allem darüber wie so ein Bericht eigentlich
entsteht.
