EP40: Jewish Convicts in Australia

This is the first of two episodes on Jews in Australia. Part one
sheds light on the fate of Jewish convicts transported to the
country in the 18th and 19th centuries. In her interview with Dr.
Sue Silberberg (University of Melbourne), Julia Schneidawind (LMU)
asks about the circumstances leading to banishment, what obstacles
and difficulties the prisoners had to deal with, and what life was
like for Jewish prisoners in the penal colony of Australia.
