In this Artist Talk, the composer, sound artist and researcher
Silvia Rosani presents her interactive piece »Feels Like Home«,
which acoustically reflects the relationship between smart homes
and their inhabitants. On the occasion of the artistic research
and development project »EASTN-DC«, ZKM | Hertz-Lab developed an
artist-in-residence program that offers artists the opportunity
to realize innovative project proposals at the interface of art,
science and technology. Rosani’s project was selected and the
Italian artist spent several weeks in Karlsruhe working on it.
Silvia Rosani gives some insights into the artistic process,
talks about her intentions and discusses the theoretical
background of the interactive installation, which will premiere
at ZKM | Karlsruhe. The audience takes a look behind the scenes
and catches a glimpse of Rosani’s studio at the ZKM | Hertz-Lab.

In diesem Artist Talk präsentiert die Komponistin,
Klangkünstlerin und Forscherin Silvia Rosani ihr interaktives
Stück »Feels Like Home«, das die Beziehung zwischen Smart Homes
und ihren Bewohner:innen akustisch reflektiert. Anlässlich des
künstlerischen Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekts »EASTN-DC«
entwickelte das ZKM | Hertz-Labor ein
Artist-in-Residence-Programm, das Künstler:innen die Möglichkeit
bietet, innovative Projektvorschläge an der Schnittstelle von
Kunst, Wissenschaft und Technologie zu realisieren. Rosanis
Projekt wurde ausgewählt und die italienische Künstlerin
verbrachte mehrere Wochen in Karlsruhe, um daran zu arbeiten.
Silvia Rosani gibt Einblicke in den künstlerischen Prozess,
spricht über ihre Intentionen und erörtert den theoretischen
Hintergrund der interaktiven Installation, die im ZKM | Karlsruhe
Premiere haben wird. Das Publikum wirft einen Blick hinter die
Kulissen und erhascht einen Einblick in Rosanis Atelier im ZKM |
Hertz-Labor.
