The recent advances in our understanding of the molecular biology
of neurodegenerative diseases have been paralleled (and indeed
preceded) by a growing recognition that different forms of
neurodegeneration are associated with characteristic patterns of
cognitive dysfunction. In his presentation Thomas Bak will focus on
different types of language impairment seen in neurodegeneration
and its relationship not only to other cognitive but also motor
functions. He will argue that a more subtle analysis of language
deficits is not only essential for diagnosis and treatment, but can
also offer insights into the very nature of neurodegenerative
processes. | Center for Advanced Studies: 02.11.2011 | Speaker: Dr.
