Hello and welcome to another episode of Agility on the ear Today’s
episode is in english In order not to moderate the episode every
time the same way, I would like to introduce my today ́s guest in
their own words I started with agility 13 years ago – first very
shortly with my late mix breed but he was much more interested in
running away from the course and I was young and had zero
experience, but very shortly after I have gotten a working kelpie
named Will with who I started seriously competing and participated
in a few European Open competitions. Will is today almost 14 and
happily enjoying retirement. With my Croatian sheepdog Ris I went
to my first Agility World Championship and loved it! At a similar
time, I started running with my first borrowed border collie Vis,
owned by my good friends, with whom some super cool stuff started,
like podiums on some bigger international competitions and also
represented Croatia at AWC. Unfortunately, an injury cut his career
short, I kept competing with his sister Wai (also owned by another
friend). Vis is no longer with us, he left us tragically last
December, and Wai is approaching 10 and slowly also going into
retirement. Unfortunately, corona cut some of the last fun years
with her. I also have a sheltie, Boom, who runs in medium - he
introduced me to a whole new world of crazy fast challenges that
forced me to bring my skills training and general agility game to
another level. We already have some big podiums behind us
(Norwegian Open, Moravia Open, Slovenian Open) but hopefully, the
best is yet to come since he only participated in one European open
and AWC when he was still quite young. But he for sure loved this
experience and we keep training and hoping for more! I also have a
few younger border collies that are just starting to seriously
compete, so who knows what the future brings. In 2017 I started my
own agility club with my friend and colleague Alen Mareković. We
train on an outdoor field as well as in a rented sports hall –
Croatia is way too small in agility to even dream about a pure
agility hall, but who knows what life brings in the future. We hope
to finally organize a huge international competition, Croatian
open, in 2022 – it has been my dream since 2020 but corona messed
up with the plans in the last years, so 3rd time is the charm! Now
