In this episode, we discuss the Pass Sanctuary Hochtor, which also
has an exhibition at the south portal, on the Carinthian side of
the Hochtor. The exhibition invites you on a time journey through
three and a half millennia, during which the Glockner crossing was
the shortest trade route between Germany in the north and the world
trade center Venice in the south. The exhibition was designed by
Dr. Georg Kandutsch, who also found and prepared many of the
exhibits himself – and today, he is guiding me through the
exhibition. He describes himself as a hobby archaeologist because,
as he explained to me with a wink at the beginning, anything you
haven't studied properly shouldn't be called your profession. The
philosopher Richard David Precht once titled one of his books: "Who
Am I? And If So, How Many?" – Rarely has this applied so well to
someone as it does to Dr. Kandutsch. My name is Max Kögl and I wish
you much pleasure in this exciting episode – and by the way: Like
all exhibitions along the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the visit
to the Pass Sanctuary Hochtor exhibition is free – so we are
looking forward to your visit soon. The website of the
