The children's story The kite that went to the moon is written by

A young boy Tom and his friend Anna have made a beautiful, big
kite. But when they try to fly it, it doesn't! And all the other
kids laugh at them. Tom and Anna set out into the world to find
someone who can tell them why their kite didn't fly. Then they
meet an elf and they go on a great adventure to the moon, where
they find their kite!
