The children's story Mr. Fox cuts the Cottontails is written by

Mr. Fox has a bad reputation among the wood animals and decided
to throw a dinner party. All the animals sneak to his house by
nightfall so not to disturb Mr. Dog. But Mr. Dog picks up on the
scent of the rabbit family, the Cottontails and follows them into
Mr. Fox's house! The party is ruined and Mr. Fox decided to never
invite the Cottontails again!
