Welcome to another episode of "Fokus Frieden". This episode
explores the intersection of visual arts and peacebuilding and
discusses how artistic practices can address and transform
cultural and societal conflicts.

Our guests in this episode are two artists who designed the
"Making Worlds" project at the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen. The
project is an attempt to tackle the challenges and conflicts of
today's world from an artistic perspective.

Together with "Making Worlds"-curator Camilo Pachón, we delve
into the realms of art, spirituality, and technology. Camilo's
innovative approach weaves traditional practices with
contemporary narratives, challenging conventional realities and
promoting new collective imagination and form of connectivity.

Our second guest is Sara Alvarado, a Colombian researcher and
visual artist based in Berlin who kicked off the Making Worlds
workshop series, tackling the topic of conflict resolution. She
shares her insights into how art serves as a medium to explore
identity and cultural dynamics, particularly in conflict-laden
environments. Her work emphasizes the power of art as a tool for
mediation and investigation, focusing on themes of migration,
borders, and spatial contexts.

Together, we discuss the crucial role of the arts in responding
to the "Zeitenwende" — a pivotal era demanding novel ideas and
approaches to societal challenges. Tune in to discover how art
can both reflect and reshape our understanding of peace and
conflict in these times of transformation.
