In this episode, we're joined by Nancy Nemes, a global leader in
high-tech and the founder of Ms. AI and #humanAIze. Nancy is an
accomplished tech executive, entrepreneur, global connector, and
digital Darwinist. Her platform, #humanAIze, is a European
initiative that promotes education, innovation, diversity, and
inclusion within the field of Artificial Intelligence. Throughout
her career, Nancy has held leadership roles at major companies
such as Microsoft, Google, Avnet, and SAP, working across Europe,
North America, and South America. Currently, she leads the AWS
(Amazon Web Services) partnerships team in Central Europe. In
2019, Nancy was recognized as one of "the most inspiring
businesswomen in European technology" by InspiringFifty. Her
book, *The Proust QuestionnAIre - Artificial Intelligence in a
Stunningly Diverse Way*, published in February 2020, has garnered
top reviews for its positive insights. “So from a Kantian
perspective, technology, AI cannot be moral agents. Because AI
cannot formulate intentions in a moral context. AI robots do not
possess that human rational thinking capacity. They do not
possess a free will to be able to understand what constitutes a
rule. We can teach them, right? “ Nancy's experience working with
some of the world’s leading tech companies across several
continents has given her a unique perspective on technology, its
integration into our work and lives, and the evolving impact of
AI as a transformative force. She refers to herself as a "digital
Darwinist," highlighting how humanity evolves alongside
technology. Nancy approaches technology from multiple dimensions
and through the lens of various disciplines. In this captivating
conversation, she shares her distinctive insights on AI,
encouraging us to view it through the wisdom of philosophers and
great thinkers. From future deep competence and book smarts and
the success of humans created by the unconscious via to the
importance of polymaths and the promise of enhancement by
technology right through to the meaning of Poincaré, Kant and
Einstein for AI. One thing remains certain and that is that there
is a lot more to AI than meets the eye. By the way, what do
saturation, incubation, inspiration, verification and
perspiration have to do with AI, what could artificial
intelligence be called instead and how does moving furniture
contribute to moving minds? – tune in!
