Once more this Mix is meant to tell a story. In short: a Story
starting with an affair that seems to be love when Mad Cobra says
„Girl flex, it’s time to have sex“ and Lady Saw responds that she
wants to give it to him „hardcore“ with her „heels on“... Alaine
(the most loving part of this whole mix :-*) soon after that
realizes that this is the real thing as she feels like she „melts
away“ like a candle is melting wax. The whole love soon turns out
in cheating games... and both partners seem to lose control...
Chris Martin feels somehow disappointed („if you dont trust me now,
you wont trust me later“) as Ce’cile talks about breaking up and
that she had even prefered the times when she was his sidechick...
He knows that it’s all wrong. But this „other girl“ (T’Nez) keeps
teasing him... The „Cheating Games“ (Mavado & Raine Seville) do
not seem to take an end... He even ends up in praying to god to
help him „not to let me cheat on my girlfriend“ ... without
success... The whole thing escalates when she starts cheating on
him too as revenge („wait till him left the yard!“, Ce’Cile)... His
begging for „will you take me back?!?! I will do my best to never
get caught again“ (Chris Martin) has no more influence on the
outturn... Probably wasn’t really the real love that was expected:
„Gweh! Pack your things me a leave you!“ (Ishawna).

After that the mix is going through all kinds of wild explicit
stories betweeen man and woman... A mix that should prove that
explicit dancehall isn’t always full of stupidity but also is able
to tell stories in a creative, sometimes even charming way.
Explicit dancehall doesn’t need to result in pure slackness. QQ for
example thinks he could „fall in love again“ just because her
„PumPum blessed“ and Ishawna loves „how yu mek me feel“ as he got
„the perfect mic fi sing pon“.... As we are talking about singing:
„lalalala – make your pum pum happy, make your pum pum smile, make
your pum pum sing sometime - lalalala“ (Vybz Kartel). But is „I
love you as much as I love f##k“ (Popcaan) really enough? Probably
not... As Ishawna even calls for „Restraining Order“... But still
she is the „only gyal him want“ (Tiana).

Somebody who was listening to me recording the mix once said „If
you want it or not, this sounds like ‚lover’s rock à la 2016’“ –
well, think about it!
OK, probably it’s not only 2016, as we will also make an excrusion
to the earlier times when Shabba Ranks, Beenie Man or Lady Saw were
ruling the place... Even T.O.K. do their part and make clear what
kind of lover she wants.

This mix is not slackness. And check yourself how the story could
finish... Sometimes you can even – after all - manage to „fall in
love again“ (Mr. Vegas) and feel unexpected love „falling on me
like the rain“ (Alaine) – sang once more by the only reggae singer
with a certificate for love songs. Have fun with the mix and try to
follow the story.
