Former DHS/HSI Attaché Sandie Bostick, born December 15, 1960, was
a Supervisory Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations
(DHS), Office of International Affairs. Agent Bostick graduated
from Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas, in 1984 with a
Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Investigative Reporting. Agent
Bostick joined the US Customs Service as a Customs Inspector in
1992, and served in Eagle Pass, Texas. In 1997, Agent Bostick
promoted to the position of Special Agent, and served in this
capacity in Baltimore, Maryland, and Del Rio, Texas. From 2003
through 2009, Agent Bostick served as the Supervisory Special Agent
of Field Operations for the Del Rio HSI Field Office. This included
supervising the Del Rio HITDA Task Force, which was comprised of 25
federal and state narcotics agents. Agent Bostick transferred to
the Office of Professional Responsibility (Internal Affairs and
Investigations), San Antonio, Texas, in 2009, where he specialized
in sensitive / high-level corruption and employee misconduct
investigations.
In May 2011, Agent Bostick assumed the position of DHS/HSI Attaché,
Moscow / Central Asia. Agent Bostick supervised all HSI
investigative activities in the countries of Russia, Kazakhstan,
Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
The Attaché Moscow is a sub-office under the HSI Attaché Vienna,
Austria office, which including the Attaché Moscow AOR, is
comprised of 26 countries. Agent Bostick regularly contributed to
HSI investigative operations in Eastern European countries under
the Regional Attaché, Vienna. Throughout his career as a federal
investigator, Agent Bostick conducted and supervised extensive and
complex investigations into smuggling and money laundering
organizations that have resulted in the arrests and convictions of
over seven hundred felons, and the seizures and forfeitures of
millions of dollars worth of illegally obtained assets. Agent
Bostick has also received numerous performance awards through out
his career, and was noted by Federal District Judge Allia Moses as,
"The last federal agent any smuggler wants to see in his rearview
mirror".
